One of the services we offer is a hassle free friendly post-production service that fits around your needs. Recently we had the pleasure of working with award-winning filmmaker Clare Sturges from Brightest Films.
She had been commissioned to make a short form documentary by Maggie’s Cancer Caring Centres. The documentary follows the much loved and respected artist Osi Rhys Osmond, as he creates his final work Self Portrait during the last weeks of his life. The film explores Osi’s profound views on life, art, and being human.
We have a lot of experience in handling the technical side of the post-production process. Our aim is to ensure that the technical elements of editing do not hamper or impede the creative process. When it comes to choosing a workflow we are always led by the creative lead. In this case Clare wanted the editor, Chris to deliver a first cut and then work with him towards the final cut.
Communication is key, with Chris and Clare communicating via email to discuss edit notes and share cuts. Towards the final stages Clare would sit in the edit working with Chris. After picture lock, Rob graded the film working with both the director and cinematographer (Ryan Owen) to achieve the right look.
The film will now begin being shown at festivals and selected screenings to raise awareness of the therapeutic value of art in dealing with cancer and Osi’s legacy.
Above is a short trailer for the film. We are honoured to be involved in such a wonderful project and hope the film gets the audience it deserves.
